The Scent Profile

The scent profile is opening of Indian sour medicinal top - note -oddly enough that I smelt in top notch Vietnamese oud oils from Nha Trang- with leathery woody undertones, absolutely zero barn or zero burn notes, pure resin smell. A little later the scent of subutism burning agarwood starts to show, like sniffing a subitism super incense grade Meghalaya wood smoke, absolutely breath taking.

Minimal soak and zero overcook, a master cook did this one.

After getting this oil, you will be shocked at its price mark, its vintage feel, even though this was distilled in 2023. This is our gift to you, enjoy.

Meghalaya agarwood oil, sourced from the hilly state of Meghalaya in northeastern India, is known for its distinctive and rich scent profile. The agarwood from this region tends to have a deep, complex, and more earthy aroma compared to some other varieties. The scent profile of Meghalaya agarwood oil generally includes:

1. **Earthy and Woody Base**: A deep, grounding earthy scent is at the core, often darker and more resinous than other agarwood oils. It has a wet, mossy woodiness that evokes the scent of a dense, damp forest.

2. **Sweet and Balsamic**: A subtle sweetness, often with balsamic qualities, gently rises through the earthiness. This sweetness is rich but not overly sweet, resembling honey or molasses, which rounds out the darker aspects of the oil.

3. **Smoky and Incense-like**: Meghalaya agarwood has a soft, smoky characteristic, though it’s often smoother and less sharp than other varieties. The smokiness is reminiscent of fine incense, contributing a warm, meditative quality to the scent.

4. **Spicy and Warm**: Hints of spices such as cinnamon, cloves, or black pepper can sometimes be detected. These spicy nuances are subtle but add warmth and depth to the scent, enriching its complexity.

5. **Animalic Undertones**: There are faint animalic notes, such as leather or musk, that provide a raw, primal edge. These are balanced, never overpowering, and contribute to the oil's richness and intensity.

6. **Green and Herbal Notes**: Light green or herbal undertones may surface, offering a fresh contrast to the darker wood and smoke. These elements evoke the natural, verdant environment of Meghalaya, enhancing the earthy character of the oil.

Overall, Meghalaya agarwood oil is deep, earthy, and complex, combining smoky, woody, and slightly sweet elements with subtle spicy and animalic undertones. It has a rich, immersive scent that is both grounding and meditative, reflective of the region’s dense, natural beauty.
