Vintage Malaysian agarwood oils are revered for their smooth, balanced, and highly nuanced scent profile, developed and refined over years of aging. The oils offer a harmonious blend of rich, earthy, and sweet aromas with incredible depth and sophistication. The scent profile typically includes:
1. **Smooth, Woody Base**: A rich, creamy woodiness forms the foundation, often described as smooth and mellow rather than harsh or sharp. The wood notes are deep and grounding, with a refined elegance.
2. **Sweet and Resinous**: A notable sweetness develops over time, often compared to warm honey or caramelized sugar. This sweetness is soft and well-integrated with the woody tones, giving the oil a luxurious feel.
3. **Earthy and Mossy**: Subtle earthy notes, reminiscent of damp soil, moss, or wet forest floor, provide a natural, grounding aspect to the oil. These notes evoke the scent of nature after rain, offering a fresh yet deep character.
4. **Delicate Smokiness**: Compared to other types of agarwood, the smokiness in vintage Malaysian oud is often more subtle and refined, reminiscent of delicate incense or smoldering wood embers, adding warmth without overwhelming the softer tones.
5. **Floral and Green Accents**: Faint floral or green nuances, like soft jasmine or fresh herbs, may surface, providing a light, airy contrast to the denser woody and sweet notes. These fleeting elements add complexity and freshness.
6. **Balsamic and Spicy**: Resinous, balsamic tones often linger in the base, sometimes accompanied by subtle spice, such as clove or cinnamon. These notes contribute to the oil's warmth and depth, creating a comforting, long-lasting finish.
Overall, vintage Malaysian agarwood oils are smooth, sweet, and delicately smoky, with an earthy, balsamic richness. The aging process enhances their complexity and balance, making them a prized material for those seeking a deep yet refined oud experience.

The Cook:
Where ancient civilizations collide, we have created a super-rare, Sylhet-style distillation of AAA grade chorun from wild Malaysian trees. The wood dust was purchased in 2002 by the Chef and imported to Bangladesh for a traditional Hindi cook.
This combination of Malaysian woods done the traditional Sylheti way has never been done before, and employs the skills and methodology from ancient Sylhet, Bangladesh, along with natural and organic raw jungle materials from Malaysia, for a one-off , vintage Hindi/Malay oud experience.
The ancient art of distillation was developed in the Sylhet region of India over 2000 years ago. Indulge in their ancient methods through this rare and precious vintage oud oil.
Note: THIS OIL WAS GCMS TESTED AFTER OPENING FROM STORAGE
